Electrochemical Sensor for the Direct Determination of Warfarin in Blood

Detecting warfarin levels in the blood is of critical importance anticoagulant therapy because it imperative that concentration drug maintained within a specific range. In this paper, we present proof-of-concept novel sensing device based on ion-selective electrode (ISE) technology for direct detection samples without any sample pretreatment. We used tetradodecylammonium chloride (TDDA) as an ion-exchanger to fabricate membrane. The ISE developed showed high sensitivity, with limit (LOD) 1.25 × 10−7 M and 1.4 10−5 detecting buffer blood, respectively. sensor also exhibited promising selectivity identifying presence various ions including salicylate, most abundant calibration slope 58.8 mV/dec. envision combining microfluidic system simple potentiometer produce sensitive, selective, portable point-of-care testing monitoring level patients’ during treatment.
